About Spellwright Studios
A small shop. One game. A desk that answers mail. Valor's Epoch is the work.
Spellwright Studios makes one game: Valor’s Epoch. There’s no side catalog, and no house name that won’t answer mail.
Paul Troxel is the product manager. Mail to the studio reaches him directly at paultroxel@spellwrightstudios.com — bugs, press, licensing, or a fight that felt wrong. Name the encounter and what was on screen; that’s what gets a real answer.
What this site is
This is the publisher desk for the game: essays on the setting and the starter seats, field notes on the grove’s wildlife, and four contracts that play free in the browser. The full campaign — Guild hall, hearth rests, a party that carries its wounds from one job to the next — isn’t built yet.
The fight in your browser isn’t a demo built for the web. It runs the same forest boards, the same 5.1 math, and the same combat client as the phone build.
What we won’t do
Ads are off until we have approval to run them, and they’ll never sit on top of the board once they return. The Codex is a shelf of creature and character figures, not essays — the writing lives in the articles. The four open contracts aren’t the whole of the grove’s wildlife; ember mites and briarlings are real, they’re just not fights we’ve built yet. And we’re not Wizards of the Coast: Valor’s Epoch runs on the SRD 5.1, licensed CC-BY-4.0, credited in the footer and in “How we use the SRD.”
The site works with no login required, and every page stays readable without waiting on a loading screen.
