Slime on the well
A weak ooze that pours through inch-wide gaps. One is a nuisance. A cluster pins and burns.
A slime is a weak, numerous ooze that pours through gaps as narrow as an inch, the reason groves and wells are where most first companies meet it. One slime is a nuisance. A cluster pins whoever gets close and burns on a hit, and the film it leaves behind pits any blade left resting nearby.
It doesn’t stalk or plan; it occupies wet ground and spreads more of it. Three slimes appear together in A Film on the Well, the site’s first contract — the smallest, clearest lesson in why holding a line beats collecting a cluster onto one target.
It’s the same wildlife family (“iron,” in Guild speech) as the corrupted slime found in The Rot in the Hollow and the ancient slime lord under The Source Below: the same ooze, encountered at three different points along one lineage.
